The Land Use Board will be meeting Tuesday, August 18th at 7pm at the Municipal Building.

The Township Committee Meeting will be held the following night August 19th, also at 7pm at the Municipal Building.

We will be live-streaming both meetings from the Municipal Building, links to follow.

Land Use Board Meeting

The Land Use Board meeting agenda is available here, and is also reproduced below.

There's a fair amount going on here. Of most interest to the public:

  1. A "revote" on a variance to allow a principal dwelling with two accessor dwelling units at 658 Brunswick Pike

  2. Resolution for approval for final site plan for The Quarry House on River Road.

  3. Discussion of re-examining the Master Plan for the township.

  4. Discussion of the tree felling portions of the stormwater quality ordinance conversations

  5. Discussion on standards for agricultural structures

  6. Discussion of amending the "dogs and other animals" and "Accessory Uses and Structures" portions of the Township code

  7. The Poleo's recusal letter asking that certain Land Use Board members be formally recused from any decisions regarding their property due

Township Committee Meeting

The agenda for the August 19th Township Committee Meeting is available here.

Potentially interesting topics include:

  1. Public Hearing on Ordinance 10-2026, amendments to the Townships's Stormwater Management codes to align with State mandates on this topic

  2. Public Hearing on Ordinance 12-2026 regarding prohibition of data centers in the Township

  3. Resolution to prohibit additional cannabis businesses within the Township

  4. Hiring and contracts for a surprising number of positions

  5. Discussion on "format and content of TC Minutes"

  6. Discussion of a "Possible Charitable Donation from M. Ehrenreich". Mr. Ehrenreich is the embattled individual fighting the Township on the turnaround on River Road near the Golden Nugget flea market, and his attempts to move the Quarry House Hotel plans forward near Big Bear Gear.

  7. Approving the backlog of Meeting Minutes that includes June 4th, June 17th, and July 15th, and the August 5th joint workshop.

Given everything going on in the Township these days, the unusual focus of the Township Committee is troubling and maybe emblematic of deeper rifts within the Committee. Minutes are argued over and tabled with regularity in 2026, which is especially annoying when there is an audio record of the entire meeting, plus there have been private videos of every Township Committee Meeting held this year.

The Township Committee seems to be fiddling while our roads are flooding out from scofflaw property owners, farmers are being attacked by our own government, Committee Members are being accused of ethics and open public meetings act violations, and the level of distrust of government seems to be at all time high.

The full TC agenda is shown below.
