Update 7/10/2026: The property has at least one outstanding Storm Water violation per the DEP, per the below notice.

Residents have been complaining for months about the construction at 25 Hewitt Road, in particular the seeming lack of storm water and other permits. Today's storm underscores local's concerns.

After an hour of heavy rain, Hewitt Road began resembling a chocolate milk stream.
Video of the drainage ditch and pipe under the southern-most driveway shows the pipe completely underwater and beginning to overflow into the street.
That drainage pipe as of today is now almost entirely blocked by debris, as shown below.

The net result of all this water cascading off the 25 Hewitt Road property is our drainage ditches are now being overwhelmed, this is the drainage ditch across the street from the property, which drains ultimately into Moore's Creek.

Note this was only an hour long storm. A longer, more sustained storm could be devestating to Hewitt Road residents, and cause long term issues with our nearby wetlands that run extensively from Hewitt Road over to Goat Hill, and even streams such as Moore's Creek and Swan Creek, which will see increased sediment from this property.
