Agenda for Wed Oct 7, 2026 Township Committee Meeting

The agenda for next Wednesday's Township Committee meeting dropped.
The agenda is available here:
As usual, we will be live streaming the meeting.
Items of note:
Open Public Comment. The two open public comment periods are back. Each period also reverts back to the 5 minute limit per person. At the last public meeting, Mayor Deal tried to illegally curtail the open to public periods to just 1, and to take the per-person time limit down to just 3 minutes. She was stopped when other Township Committee persons objected.
East Amwell Sharedd Construction Office. Once again the construction office shared agreement with East Amwell is under "discussion". There is a perhaps related item noted under correspondence entitled "Email dated 9/21/26 from R. Malinowski, re: Construction Office Financial Review".
Regional DEP designation is overblown. The announcements section says "Regional Resilience Grant Application was Approved". This is not entirely accurate. NJDEP allowed West Amwell to join in a new regional designation called the "Delaware River Sourland Mountain Region"that includes Lambertville, Stockton Borough, Delaware Township, East Amwell Township, Hopewell Township, Hopewell Borough, Pennington Borough, and two community-based organizations – Sourland Conservancy and The Watershed Institute - along with our Township. The combined 10 entities can receive grants up to $350,000 in total to "support their participation" in the regional Delawae River Sourland Mountain Region Group. It is not clear who would lead this group, but it notable that the only quote in the NJDEP press release is from Lambertville Mayor Norwich.
Meeting Minutes. Meeting Minutes going all the way back to July 15th, 2026th are being presented for approval. And no, it is not normal for Townships to have three months of backlogs, but that is becoming the norm under Mayor Deal.
The full list of Standing Committee Reports are back.
Another Resignation. It appears another Township employee has resigned, Melissa Weber. She was office assistant across zoning, tax, and construction offices.
Route 31 Urban Renewal. Route 31N Urban Renewal is back on the agenda, we think for the 2nd or third time.
Unfinished Business. The agenda indicates there is none. This all but guarantees Mayor Deal will introduce some without notice to the public.
Things not mentioned in the agenda:
No mention of 25 Hewitt Road
No mention of CFO malfeasance and mishandling of Township checks
No mention of ongoing DPW controversies
No mention of Committeeman Fitting's illegal apartment or unethical presentation to Hunterdon County Ag Development Board
The Township may actually attempt to livestream this meeting on their own as well. They have been testing out the equipment and putting test meetings into the official calendar (us techies call this testing in production).
Somewhat odd, but the email notification of this agenda was never sent to our account.
